Identification of necessities
Microencapsulation is an advanced technology with many fields of of application in different industrial sectors such as pharmaceutical, cosmetic, textile and agri-food.
Many research institutes focus on studying the release of the active substance in order to increase its efficiency, either by controlling the prolongation of the effect or its selectivity. These studies are not always satisfactory due to the fact that they can not control the drug release and they obtain an unwanted time, a very large burst or poor selectivity.
Development of the technology
The development of a microparticle formation methodology has been our achievement. It allows us to observe dynamic drug release based on the elaboration of the polymer matrix that contains the active substance.
This technology has been patented and presented orally at the Nano Bio & Med 2018 symposium which took place in Barcelona (Spain) with the title of “Controlled drug release of PLA/PLGA microspheres”.
